Michael Kors Resort 2009

This collection, from the great Michael Kors, is easily one of our favorites of the Resort season. 

“If Tony Duquette and Babe Paley had a baby, this is their girl,” said Michael Kors during his intimate showroom presentation. The designer played with opulent, but simple, looks for resort: lapis-printed full skirts and dresses, washed silk moiré frocks, tie-dyed cashmere and oh-so-glamorous retro swimsuits.

Donna Karan Resort 2009

Think pink! In a girly-girl collection full of bows and plenty of flou, Donna Karan showcased a lineup of party fare entitled Bonjour New York. Delicate bow blouses, embroidered little jackets, sculptured dresses and her signature draped goddess gowns were all in the mix.

Versace Resort 2009

That diminutive powerhouse, Donatella Versace, was in town today to present a vibrantly colored Resort collection in which safari elements mingled with Indian influences. Long, tailored jackets—some with puffed sleeves—were paired with slightly bubbled (and slightly odd) button-front minis.
