Jonathan Saunders Resort 2009

Jonathan Saunders achieved the goal of infusing his Resort collection with "a bit of joy" by using optimistic fabrics: shiny cotton sateen, changement chiffon, and acid-colored prints. They added a touch of what the designer called "opulent seventies richness" to the clothes. Though the overall effect was still clean-lined, the use of feminine details—a ruffle here, a drape there—was new. Saunders had also given some thought to glamour. An ingeniously suspended chartreuse and black evening gown was the very definition of the word.

Carlos Miele Resort 2009

Carlos Miele took inspiration from his native Brazil’s glamorous coastal lifestyle to show a colorful array of day-to-evening beachwear. It's resortwear that actually looks like something one might wear to a resort.  Long flowing fabrics in various pastel prints that can only add to an already relaxed atmosphere.

Ports 1961 Resort 2009

"I think Kara will make a splash in this outfit. As it is, she has to run around the shower to get wet," deadpanned Lipsynka, who introduced the models at Tia Cibani's Ports 1961 Resort runway show. The invitingly soft palette of mint, melba, marmalade, and tapioca lent a relaxed mood to the fifties-inspired collection, in which a lacy, circle-skirted "Lucy" dress, presumably the namesake of Lucille Ball, and a bright peachy sheath were clear ...
